As soon as you leave our garden, you&#8217;ll be greeted by olive trees and nature. One of the paths leads to Con\u00edmbriga, one of the best-preserved Roman ruins in Portugal (see the first pictures below).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>This beautiful <em>Long Roman Walk<\/em> goes all the way to the Roman village, one of the biggest Roman village in Portugal. It is about 15 kilometers one way. You could enter Con\u00edmbriga to see the large village outdoors, and the museum indoors. There are picnic tables at Con\u00edmbriga, a great restaurant and a museum store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interested? Ask us about the possibilities. They&nbsp;called us and told us they didn&#8217;t have a lot to do. The hostels and places to stay have been closed lately due to the Corona-virus, so they now stay where they are, and were happy to talk to us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next pictures show a valley between the big village where we have to go for groceries, to the market, bakery and school. Biking is difficult here around Con\u00edmbriga, it is too rough and steep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/aylinkho.files.wordpress.com\/2020\/03\/caminho1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/aylinkho.files.wordpress.com\/2020\/03\/caminho1.jpg?w=450\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2193\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/aylinkho.files.wordpress.com\/2020\/03\/caminho2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/aylinkho.files.wordpress.com\/2020\/03\/caminho2.jpg?w=450\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2194\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/aylinkho.files.wordpress.com\/2020\/03\/caminho3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/aylinkho.files.wordpress.com\/2020\/03\/caminho3.jpg?w=450\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2195\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Some pictures of our walk will give you an idea of the beautiful environment around the place where we stay. We walked for fourteen kilometers. She walked seven to eight kilometers, Jaap-Willem carried her for the remaining distance. Still, a deserved break for her small legs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/aylinkho.files.wordpress.com\/2020\/03\/walk3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/aylinkho.files.wordpress.com\/2020\/03\/walk3.jpg?w=450\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2171\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/aylinkho.files.wordpress.com\/2020\/03\/walk4.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/aylinkho.files.wordpress.com\/2020\/03\/walk4.jpg?w=450\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2172\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/aylinkho.files.wordpress.com\/2020\/03\/waterfall.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/aylinkho.files.wordpress.com\/2020\/03\/waterfall.jpg?w=450\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2187\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It is nice to see this waterfall in winter, because &#8211; hard to believe &#8211; it will be dry when summer arrives!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>We walked this path to the waterfalls and Con\u00edmbriga for the first time in the first Covid-lock down spring 2020. Now a few years later, they have worked on the route to the waterfalls. A nice path and more security.
