When booking a long time ago, Frank told us that he doesn’t like to eat pulpo. Well that is something I don’t like either so we will not prepare that. He is from San Francisco and booked privately. When I called him in the morning before his stay. He said: “I would love to have a communal dinner.”
We had a lovely dinner in the garden at 20:15. And a communal dinner is much appreciated by the guests, they are enjoyig so much, even when they book privately!
Fun fact<\/strong>: He is carrying a little jar of Vietnamese chilli sauce. We prepared an Asian dinner so he went to his backpack to get his sauce. He proposed to to the dishes because he really loves that. So he did. Thank you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Boys with Mother and Two Italians<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Sunday full house again with two Italians who booked in advance and a mother with two sons who booked last minute. Giancarlo, wanted to know everything: where is he going to sleep, who will allocate the beds. Well, I messaged him that pilgrims choose their own bed but youngers should go up. Of course I don’t know the ages of the pilgrims on forehand. Cinta saw the nice guys arriving, an she immediately made a table setting. She finally has young pilgrims at her table! The family spoke Spanish too, and therefore could communicate to Giancarlo. With Portugese, Spanish and Italian language, we could understand each other! Aron, right from Cinta walks barefoot or on flip flops! But the dirt road is not treating the flipflops well so he has some extra with him, and needs more extra pairs for sure. He has a heavy backpack, they carry a sleeping back, next to his 3 camera\u2019s it is quite a lot. Asher, left from Cinta is photographing the moon during dinner. He is going to sleep on the mattresses on the floor. Normally everyone likes to sleep on the lower bunk so first come, first goes. But the real pilgrims<\/em>…. For me those are the ones who care about others (and also care about the litter on the road), will go up when older or handicapped pilgrims arrive later. And that is what happens normally.
Giancarlo met the mother and two sons on their path and he was allocating the beds on their journey to Casa da Lima! For the mother and the sons, all was good of course…<\/p>\n\n\n\nCinta’s Table Setting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Giancarlo was so happy with our Italian plates and this time we had Italian food too! Spaghetti with nice tomato sauce, Melanzane Parmigiani, mixed mushrooms and a salad. Vegetarian mother and son loved all the healthy food and salad. The carrot soup and pineapple as a dessert were a succes too. Obviously the family didn’t eat a lot that day because all was closed when they passed by. It is Sunday. So they were content with the table filled with nice food.
Fun Italian Fact<\/strong>: Giancarlo didn’t want to mix different foods on his plate. Not possible: “An Italian eats all separately<\/em>“. We all looked at Mauro’s plate, it was okay for Mauro.
Giancarlo didn’t start at the other dish because he wanted a second plate of pasta (it was even al dente!) first before getting the Melanzane Parmigiani, and after that some beets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We noticed that the older Italians, staying at our place, don’t speak English well, they are silent, they rely on their friend who speaks a little bit better English.
