Cabo San Vincente<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Cape St. Vincent in English is located in the municipality of Vila do Bispo, in the Algarve, southern Portugal. It is the most southwestern point of Portugal and of mainland Europe. Very famous and touristy. And since we walk on the cliffs and rocks, and experience the views closeby, we are actually sorry for the bus tourist who see only this lighthouse, and one viewpoint.

Willeke saw the food truck ‘Die Letze Bratworst vor Amerika’ already a few days ago. We buy a German ‘hotdog’. We receive a certificate and they even have a stamp for our pilgrims passport. Fun to buy exotic snacks here! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now we walk north to Vila de Bispo. We walk on a very difficult path with narrow rocks. We slow down, because it is hard to step from narrow stone to an even more narrow stone, and it hurts on all sides of our feet. All the painful spots are hurting. When it is finally over, it becomes an easy path! The last part is a long path just straight inland. Here we could walk faster again. All in all, we were quite fast today. The stages are fine, but it is a sportive route. To relax in the cold water would be a present. Today, we don’t walk close to the ocean, so we miss our dip in the sea.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

When we enter the town, we sit down at the first cafe we see, next to the Aldi. The owner is friendly and we buy his wife’s homemade cake.
I only know that I reserved a place called Good Feeling Hostel in Raposeira, 2 km east of Vila do Bispo. The man said we will sleep in a bungalow, that sounds luxurious. We need to walk a little bit more but hopefully it is worth it.

Good Feeling Hostel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When we reach the hostel, we feel good immediately. The hostel is cosy, clean, with a big kitchen and living room. To my surprise I see a beach volleyball field, and to my friends surprise there is a swimming pool. Willeke my dearest beach volleyball friend from Nijmegen (we were fanatic beach volleybal players) didn’t even walk on the sand on the beach field, let alone see or touch the ball that was also present.
We pay and we dive in the swimming pool. The hostel serves cod fritters, but this healthy freak doesn’t like fried dishes, so we walk to town where there should be a local Portuguese restaurant. Luckily the touristy restaurant with burgers and pizza’s is closed. The Portuguese restaurant opens very late. No option for us. What now?
What a surprise, this tiny little town has another restaurant! It is even a vegan one with Mediterranean Greek dishes. Delicious, we dig in.
